Singing the Lord's Song

Singing the Lord’s Song!
At St. Leonard’s Church we try to please most of the people most of the time with a varied mix of music styles to encourage all ages of people to sing the Lord’s song. We try to introduce new songs as well as singing some of the old favourites.

The Music Group has been leading the worship since 1972. Our personnel and instruments have been quite varied over the years as has the ages of the group. Our group members' ages range from 15 – 67 with instruments such as piano, guitars (rhythm & bass) percussion, clarinets and voices. The organ is played for some of the older hymns and the piano for the more modern songs.

The hymn book we normally use is Mission Praise (combined) but thanks to our CCLI & MRL Licence we are able to use hymns and songs from other sources such as the Spring Harvest collections, Songs of Fellowship and others. On most Sundays the words of the hymns are displayed on the screen. We have a sound system to enable the effective mixing of voices helping us to lead the congregation in the praise and worship of God.
